SoloDNS will be going public on Apr 9, 2012 (our 9 year anniversary).This service was created as a private service for our clients. We were at a cross roads on whether or not to outsource our DNS, or take SoloDNS to the next level. After long deliberation and consideration for our current clients and future clients we decided this was the best move.
This biggest motivation for doing this was simple. While we were considering oursourcing DNS ourselves, we could not find anything that was cost effective. DNS should not cost more than entire domain hosting plans. That has become SoloDNS' mission statement; "Provide quality DNS services at a cost effective price."
Our exact features and pricing is still under development. We will be releasing that information soon. Their are two major features we are considering. A) Limited free accounts. B) Piecemeal pricing so you do not get stuck into across the board tier pricing and minimums.
